Tuscany Guidelines for Digital Platform Riders

Summary

These guidelines, adopted in November 2021 by the Region of Tuscany together with trade unions and platform companies, establish a framework to improve working conditions for riders working through digital platforms. They promote the use of subordinate employment contracts under national collective bargaining agreements, particularly in the logistics sector, and outline provisions relating to occupational safety and health, training, algorithm transparency, and data protection. The guidelines also introduce mechanisms such as certification schemes, a public register of participating platforms, and an ethical label, as well as employment services, language training, and institutional monitoring. For more information, please refer to the full text of the guidelines (last checked Nov. 2025).
