Milan Protocols on Anti-Exploitation in Food Delivery
Summary
Two protocols were signed in November 2020 at the Prefecture of Milan. The first protocol was concluded between Assodelivery and the Italian trade union confederations Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions (CISL), and Italian Labour Union (UIL). A parallel protocol was signed between Assodelivery and the General Labour Union (Unione Generale del Lavoro, UGL).The protocols address illegal intermediation and labour exploitation in the food delivery sector. They require the adoption of organisational models compliant with Legislative Decree 231/2001, prohibits outsourcing to third-party operators until the establishment of an official registry, and provide for monitoring through a joint oversight body.
