Bologna Charter
Summary
Signed in May 2018 by the City of Bologna, Riders Union Bologna, the Italian trade union confederations Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions (CISL), and Italian Labour Union (UIL), together with local food delivery platforms Sgnam and MyMenu, this charter sets out a series of non-binding principles regarding working conditions in digital platform work. It addresses remuneration, data protection, algorithm transparency, occupational safety and health, non-discrimination, and the right to collective representation. Although not legally enforceable, it serves as a reference for future discussions on platform work regulation at the local level.
