Summary

The Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 12 of 2019 establishes legally binding safety provisions for the use of motorcycles for public transportation purposes in Indonesia. According to Article 2, the Regulation applies to motorcycle services provided (a) through information technology-based applications and (b) without such applications.

Pasal 4. l. Pengemudi: memakai jaket dengan bahan yang dapat memantulkan cahaya disertai dengan identitas pengemudi; menggunakan celana panjang; menggunakan sepatu; menggunakan sarung tangan; dan membawa jas hujan; m. Pengemudi dan Penumpang menggunakan helm standar nasional Indonesia.

Pasal 5 ayat (2) huruf (f). melengkapi aplikasi dengan fitur tombol darurat (panic button) bagi Pengemudi dan Penumpang.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Article 4. l. Drivers must: Wear a jacket made of reflective material and include driver identification; Wear long trousers; Wear shoes; Wear gloves; and carry a raincoat. Both drivers and passengers must wear helmets that meet Indonesian national standards.

Article 5 paragraph (2) letter (f). Include a panic button feature in the application for both drivers and passengers.
Pasal 16 ayat (3) huruf (h). kepastian mendapatkan santunan jika terjadi kecelakaan; i. kepastian mendapatkan perlindungan jaminan sosial ketenagakerjaan dan jaminan sosial kesehatan sesuai dengan ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan.
