ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Article 3. Workers in enterprises, institutions, agencies and social organisations (hereinafter collectively referred to as employers) within the territory of China who earn wages as their main source of livelihood have the right to participate in and form trade unions in accordance with the law, irrespective of ethnicity, race, sex, occupation, religious belief or level of education. No organisation or individual may obstruct or restrict this. Trade unions adapt to changes in the form of enterprise organization, the structure of the workforce, labour relations, employment patterns and other developments, and safeguard the right of workers to join and form trade unions in accordance with the law.
